How Georgette Mulheir is Defending Haiti´s Democracy

Much of the world would agree that one of the most critical human rights areas is children. So, who can a country call on when in need of an expert in this subject matter? Why, Georgette Mulheir, of course. She has been pioneering the protection of children for over 30 years throughout 33 countries. Georgette Mulheir has prevented harm to millions of children by advocating to government officials for the deinstitutionalization of children. In addition, Georgette’s contributions also made a difference during her time at UNICEF in Sudan. There, she aided in restructuring the Sharia law, in turn, rescuing more than 10,000 babies.

Georgette has taken the compassion she has for children and directed it towards Haiti. She has noticed the hardship Haiti is facing and has decided to do something about it. Sadly, Haiti could be on the brink of being under a dictatorship with a president whose term has ended. In addition, many citizens are experiencing high crime levels, including kidnapping and massacres for those that are opposing the government. However, all hope is not lost. Georgette Mulheir has developed Defend Haiti’s Democracy on behalf of those suffering. With her renowned reputation of creating change, she has the vision of gaining the awareness of others to put pressure on authorities to stop the violence and restore peace.

To make changes in Haiti, Defend Haiti’s Democracy has requested support by either reaching out to a representative in your country, signing their letter, or as simple as joining their social media campaign to stand in solidarity with Haiti. With all of her years of hard work under her belt, Georgette’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. She has had the honor of achieving the overall Charity of the Year Award, Zero Project award, and the Tribeca Disruptive Innovation award, to name a few. In addition to this, human rights defendant Georgette Mulheri was honored with being one of the most influential social workers. With all of these accolades behind her, Georgette Mulheir will continue to work hard on bringing peace and harmony back to Haiti.
